Who owns & operates the system?
Intellitrans LLC owns and maintains the system for you. You use Global VMI to optimize your supply chain performance.

Do I need a special computer to see the system?
As long as you have a computer with Internet access and a typical browser (IE, Netscape), you are ready to use Global VMI.

How long does the warranty last & what does the warranty cover?
The warranty lasts for three years, and covers both the hardware installed and the service. It does not cover accidental damage caused by your facility, however.

Do I need an instruction manual?
There is a users manual available - however, the system is very easy to use.

Can I transfer the suppliers on the system when a vendor change is made?
Assuming that you paid for the system and not your vendors, yes you can. Access can be changed to your data relatively easily.

Are any new products/services available through this service being offered?
Yes there are - please see our web site at www.GlobalVMI.com for updates on our service offerings.

  How secure is the information?
Secure access is granted to the data at the individual user - vessel level. That access is maintained using SSL (secure socket layer) technology.

Since many companies buy from multiple vendors what does each vendor see?
Each vendor only sees those silos that they have been given access to - typically, the silos that they replenish.

Can I trust the system to run on the weekends & holidays? top
Yes - the system runs 24 hours a day x 365 days a year. Our data center has around-the-clock coverage to ensure uptime.

I have multiple manufacture facilities; can they be displayed together?
Yes - you will have access to all of your monitored sites through the initial map screen.

My company has facilities that require monitoring throughout Europe and the Americas. Can I have the service for all my sites?
Yes you can - our technology has FCC and EC approval.

What happens if the system goes down?
Our staff of analysts and data center personnel continually watches the system to ensure uptime. The system also notifies the staff of any issues with performance so that they can be corrected immediately.

How do I know the system is accurate?
When we first set up Global VMI at your site, we go through a process of calibrating our measurements to your existing measurement system. If there is ever a case where you feel that the system is providing inaccurate data, please contact us so that we can investigate.

What level of accuracy can the system measure?
The measurement devices that we use are very accurate (i.e., ultrasonic devices can measure distance within 0.5%). However, due to varying shapes of bulk solids, we round the values that are displayed to the nearest 5000 Lbs.

If my vendors choose to pay for the system can they pay for the service? top
  Yes they can.

Is there a fee if I cancel the service during the contract period?
Yes there is - typically the removal fee is equal to the installation fee for the system.

How many times a day does the system sample inventory run?
The system is capable of sampling at any specified time period. From our experience in the plastics and chemical industry, a sampling frequency of every four hours is appropriate for most vessels.

I sometimes see a spike in the reading. What does that mean?
These spikes can be the result of electrical noise within the system or a reading being taken during vessel filling. The next reading should reflect the actual level.

  Is my inventory data confidential?
Yes it is - access to see your data is only provided to those individuals you feel need to have that access, and we maintain security around your data.

Do you have a solution for packaged goods as well?
We are currently evaluating solutions for packaged goods, and hope to bring it to market in the second half of 2000.

Can you provide usage data as well as inventory data?
Algorithms for usage calculations are under development, and should be available in the second half of 2000.
